I was listening to my iPod Shuffle the other day and realised what a weird mix of stuff I have on there. When I started thinking about it I figured I kind of mentally divide all my music into one of four groups. Does anyone else fo this or is it just me? Tweet me about it!

These are my four groups:

Good Music
This is the stuff you actually admit to “listen to”. Good bands or artists that have some talent and you’ve got their albums and listen to them because you actually appreciate them.
Some of my bands are the Beatles, the Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, Foo Fighters, Queen.

Fun Music
AKA Guilty Pleasures. You know the ones. Obviously you don’t listen to Basshunter, you just happen to enjoy that one single he had cause it’s fun to dance to. And you know the words cause it’s on the radio all the time. And you accidentally put it on your iPod. But you don’t listen to it. Obviously.
Here goes people like CSS, ABBA, the Bee Gees, Lady GaGa, the Ting Tings, the Streets, Beach Boys, Elvis, songs from musicals and any One Hit Wonders.

Emo Music
You know when you were 14 and sad and you really loved this band and your parents didn’t think they were good for you, but you just put on some more eyeliner and told everyone to fuck off? No, just me? Them bands anyway. Looking back, maybe the music in itself wasn’t that excellent but you still keep the albums in the closet and listen to them now and agan for old times sake.
My bands were Green Day, Sex Pistols and a bit of Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Bowling for Soup, Muse, Goodnight Nurse, Anti-Flag, The Offspring.

Classical Music
This might just be me cause I’m a nerd, but classical music needs its own section. Maybe you’ve got something else you listen to when you feel calm and intellectual and fancy and imagine you’re cleverer than other people to appreciate all clever artsy things. Like Bjork or something, whatever floats your boat.
